    [Guide] Viruses Empty [Guide] Viruses

    Post by «MLX« Wed Dec 22, 2010 7:12 am

The internet is filled with viruses, but there are ways to protect ourselves from viruses. I'm here to show you which anti-viruses I like the most.
The cheers 's are my rating. It's out of 5.

    Guide Part I.

    Anti-viruses.

    1. Malwarebytes.[Free] cheers cheers cheers cheers cheers
This is by far my favorite free anti-virus.

    2. AVG [Free] cheers cheers cheers cheers

This is a pretty good anti-virus, and as always, it's free. I think this is the most downloaded anti-virus right now.You can download a 30 day free trial from here

    3. Avast [Free] cheers cheers

Avast is an okay anti-virus. It picked up what AVG missed when I rescanned my computer, but it made my computer laggy beyond your imagination. I think it's just my computer. You can ignore my rating and try it.

    4. Spybot [Free] cheers cheers cheers

Not the best, but not the worst. You can read the review on the download site for this. Please be careful where you click on this site. The download link is on the right side.

    5. Kapersky [Not Free]
    cheers cheers cheers
It's similar to avast, but you need to pay for this on.

    6. NoVirusThanks [Some free, but some are not]
I've never tried this, but my friend recommended it to me. Since I've never tried it, I can't give it a rating.

    7. Norton [Must pay]
    cheers
Norton is one of the most famous and infamous anti-virus out there. I personally don't like it. It's an anti-virus, that you pay for, and yet it fails half the time for me. I would recommend AVG over it.

There's more, but I'm too lazy to add right now.
    ------------------

    Guide Part 1.5

Also, you should scan a link before clicking on it. I use Virustotal most of the time.

    -----------------

    Guide Part II

    How to use the anti-virus.
Simple... You just need to click full scan and just wait for the scan to finish. If you wish be more careful, here's what I do. I would turn off my computer, and turn it back on and bring my computer into safe mode. From there, I would scan my computer with different anti-viruses.

Some of these anti-virus might detect private servers as a virus/trojan. I'm too lazy to explain it right now, so when it happens... ask me.

Norton is like... annoying. Since you need to pay for Norton, I would suggest AVG (not free one) over Norton.
