    DNS Configuration

Post by Nicholas on Sat Nov 13, 2010 5:16 am

Just a suggestion but It would be really nice if you actually registered the nameservers for the dot.tk domain for the site instead of using the IEFrame mode.

If you do choose to its really easy:

    1 Login to My Dot.Tk
    2 Goto List My Domains
    3 Modify Domain
    4 Use Custom DNS
5 Type in the ip addresses or urls provided by your host
    (Usually formatted as ns1.host.com, ns2.host.com)
6 Apply the changes and give it at the most 48 hours to change over.

I had to do this for my own website.
I forgot how to change the favicon (the little .tk picture) I'm pretty sure it has to do with the html code in the page.

    [ <head> ]
    <link rel="shortcut icon" href="/images/icons/MyIcon.ico">
    [ </head ]

<3 Usually entered on each page, else, I would put it on default page, and lock all the heads to it.

Secondly, we used to have the domain Hellyms.com, But the setup of the domain was a little more, The VPS we had was based on Windows server 2003, and to be honest, It's a great OS but, I've never used it. We never got it set up properly, and else than that, the nameservers we got were also incorrect. I believe it's still paid for the year, so let's ask Helly before anything else.

That's all for me. Nice threat though! <3

I'm saying that the current site/s are just IFRAMES of the ip address. I'm saying that the .tk domain should be properly registrared instead of using the frame option.

A IFRAME is a webpage displayed inside of a webpage...like if I were to pose a window with acess to google.com within the site.

Yeah, registering the .tk is something you should consider if it's worth it, as that means each time they connect to the site, they will connect to the IP that the site is hosted on, the server. Which will not only increase the lag in game, it would also cause the web to go down when the server does. It's something Mike should consider.
